Compare · Fork

Nori vs Fork: two native clients you buy once.

Fork and Nori share a philosophy: a native app, a single payment, no subscription. Fork has years of Git features behind it and runs on Windows too. Nori is newer and Mac only, and puts pull request review and CI checks inside the app.

Choose Fork if

  • You need Windows, an Intel Mac or a macOS older than 26.
  • Your repositories use submodules or Git LFS.
  • You use bisect, the reflog, Git-flow or create worktrees from the app.
  • You want three machines on one licence.

Choose Nori if

  • You review pull requests: line comments, approvals, CI checks and merge on GitHub or GitLab, in the same window as the history.
  • You want undo for commits, branch deletions and discards.
  • You want AI that also explains commits and suggests conflict resolutions.
  • You switch between large repositories often: Nori loaded them in about half Fork’s time in our measurements.

Switching from Fork

Nothing to import or convert. Nori opens the repositories already on your Mac with your own Git, its configuration, hooks and SSH keys, so you can keep both apps on the same folders while you try it. Fork users will recognise the layout: the commit graph in the middle, branches on the left, the working copy beside them.
